Warning: Scam Alert

It has come to the attention of HM Insurance Group that fraudulent checks are being distributed under our name to individuals throughout the United States. This scam is being conducted through e-mail and Internet "opportunities." As part of the scam, people who respond to the offer are sent a check with the HM Life Insurance Company name and told to cash the check (some checks supposedly valid only for seven days) and send the money to another individual via Western Union.

If you receive this or a similar offer, please do not attempt to cash the check — it is fraudulent and should not be honored by a bank. Individuals who do cash or deposit this check will be responsible for the reimbursement to the bank.
