Subscriber Payments
HM Benefits Administrators and HM Life Insurance Company offer the following
electronic payment options as alternative methods to mailing a premium payment.
Meeting the required payment deadlines are the responsibility of the COBRA participant
as specified in the materials sent to the subscriber when he/she first becomes
eligible for COBRA.
For a fee, HM COBRA participants can pay premiums online through First Poynt's online payment system using credit or debit cards or from a checking or savings account. As another alternative method and for the same fee as an online transaction, payments also can be made over the telephone using First Poynt's interactive voice response (IVR) system by calling (800) 498-9868.
Payments using these systems are one-time occurrences, as initiated by the payer — they are not continual automatic withdrawal/payment systems.
Payments made online or over the telephone must be completed before 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time of the date the payment is due. Payments made after 5:00 p.m. on the due date will not be processed until the next business day and, therefore, will not meet grace period payment requirements. Fees for using these services are specified on First Poynt's Web site and in its IVR system. For either of these options, you will need to have your account information to complete the transaction.
HM Benefits Administrators and HM Life Insurance Company are not responsible for the functionality of First Poynt's systems; nor should these systems be considered a guaranteed method for making payments on the date premiums are due.
